CLUB HISTORY

The club was founded in 2000 by Jim Farrow, and was originally named Washbrook Table Tennis Club, based at the Copdock & Washbrook Village Hall. The club borrowed four tables from various sources to enable the club to get started. The club established teams in the Ipswich & District Table Tennis League, along with an active social section of the club for those not wishing to play competitive league table tennis.

In 2004 the club received £2,500 from the National Lottery "Awards for All" scheme, which enabled the club to purchase four Sponeta International Rollaway tables and a quantity of table surrounds.

The club was renamed in April 2007 to Phoenix Table Tennis Club and now resides in its new venue in Bentley Village Hall in the village of Bentley in Suffolk, with about 30 members of all ages, male and female
